Before that, he worked in Oman Electricity Transmission company (OETC) controlling Oman national grid and in Schlumberger as a field engineer

In May 2022 he received the Best Researcher Award and in May 2024 received the Proficiency in scientific publishing ِ Award during university day Sultan Qaboos University. He received from His Majesty the Sultan of Oman, the Royal Order of Commendation (Second Class) Recognition in the field of Research, Innovation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, 11th January 2023. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, IEEE, USA and a consultant in Oman Society of Engineers. He was the chair for IEEE Oman Section (January 2020- Dec 2023). He is IEEE program evaluator for Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and External Reviewer for Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA). In 2009 he was appointed as a Dean for the Deanship of Admissions and Registration, in Feb. 2014 was appointed as a Dean for the College of Engineering, and in 2019 he was appointed as Research Chair, Madayn for the Development of Industrial Estates and Free Zones. Currently he is a Professor in Electrical & Computer Engineering Department in Sultan Qaboos University.
